Unlike a few other fading trends of 2015 & 2016, the pastel hue of blush has some staying power and is still a firm favourite when it comes to decorating your home.
More sophisticated than other shades of pink, blush tones can bring an element of warmth to your space, subtly enhancing surroundings rather than working against them. For someone like myself that has a mostly a grey, white, timber and grey colour palette throughout the home, a touch of blush works wonders and prevents rooms from appearing too bleak.
This feminine and soft tone will add a touch of spring to any room and works best when paired with neutrals and contrasting masculine shades such as grey and navy which help balance it out. It’s also complimentary to timber and looks great combined with black, white and hints of lustrous metallics to give a luxurious feel.
Add a touch of blush to your home with the wide variety of furniture and accessories currently on offer. For an effortless update that can be easily changed, incorporate blush using fur or velvet cushions, lush linen, artwork or simply a fresh bunch of flowers. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you might try painting a room (such as your walk in robe or study) in this romantic shade or better yet rejuvenate your front door!
